CLIC Sargent is a charitable organisation that aims to stop cancer destroying young lives. Some of the services they provide include; financial support, social workers, play specialists and nursing care. They also have Homes from Home providing a free place to stay to keep families together whilst young cancer patients are in hospital
Last year The Albert Hunt Trust donated a cumulative gift of £75,000 towards the build of two new CLIC Sargent Homes from Home, bringing the total to ten, located in Edinburgh and Southampton. Following completion of both builds, Ciaran’s House in Edinburgh has hosted 27 family stays and Jean’s House in Southampton has hosted 59 family stays. The homes have already proved to be lifelines to families undergoing cancer treatment.
